Welcome to dosremedios.com.
Cheryl dos Remedios is an artist, civic activist and public art administrator. Her most recent projects bring public attention to cultural landscapes. At the Washington Park Arboretum, Cheryl organized the “grass routes” environmental arts festival to examine the history of the land surrounding the 520 bridge replacement project. More recently, Cheryl coordinated a 25th anniversary celebration and historic landmark designation for the Herbert Bayer Earthworks - a Modernist masterpiece, public park and stormwater detention dam located in Kent. Working as team member on complex projects may not fit the mythic vision of the artist, but Cheryl believes that it is essential for artists to be among the decision makers at this critical junction in human history. As natural resources become increasingly scarce, it is our cultural resources that will restore us to a holistic quality of life.
Cheryl’s currently organizing a Low Impact Vehicle exhibition (aLIVe) which will take place at Seward Park on August 22, 2009.
